POLAND OFFERS POST-UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS TO MOLDOVAN YOUTHS
Chisinau-04.02.2005/10:57:47/(BASA-general) The Polish Embassy in Chisinau holds a contest for post-university scholarships for Moldovan youths for the academic year 2005-06. The scholarships are offered as part of the Lane Kirkland Programme.Poland's Embassy to Moldova said in a press release that this programme aims to offer the possibility to Belarus, Georgia, Lithuania, Moldova, the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation, Slovakia, and Ukraine to learn the Polish experience regarding political and economic transformations.The studies last nine months, the courses are divided into two terms, and the scholarship holders will participate later in a 2-4-week practice in one of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning in Poland.According to sources in the Polish Embassy to Moldova, no exact number of scholarships was established and they will be offered in dependence of the number of applicants. Moldovan youths can apply for the following sectors: economics and management, public administration and business administration, state local administration, law, social sciences, and political sciences.The selected persons will receive a monthly scholarship worth 1,750 Polish zlots (about 600 dollars), accommodation, medical assistance, materials for studies, access to computer and Internet. Poland will cover a one-way ticket and will pay for public transport in country.Candidates must be Moldovan citizens under 35 (under 40 in certain cases), must hold university diploma or scientific degree in one of the indicated sectors, must have minimum two years of professional experience, and speak Polish and, alternatively, English.The necessary documents can be submitted to the Polish Embassy to Moldova till March 15, 2005.Basa-News
