Harley Davidson honour Schumacher 30 Aug 2001 Prestigious motorbike manufacturer Harley Davidson is to honour Michael Schumacher''s fourth world championship win by producing a limited edition world championship bike. Schumacher is already a proud owner of a Milwaukee cruiser, and has often been spotted riding his big V-twin to relax. During the recent three week break, before the Hungarian GP, he went for a long ride with a group of biker friends. The motorcycle, which will be mainly red in colour, will cost around 180,000 Marks ($70,000) and the company are talking of producing one for each of his GP victories - 51 so far but the figure could continue to rise. "That is a proud price for a motorcycle," said Joachim Schäfer, managing director of PPM, which markets the world champion, to SID. "But it is also a special edition with special properties. We wanted to marry formula1 with the motorbike." The motorbike will produce more than 100 bhp, and will be unveiled at the IAA in Frankfurt in September. It has an active chassis and a tank and rear end made of carbon fibre - just like Schumacher''s Ferrari. "We will make a copy for each GP victory, which at the moment is 51. Perhaps on Sunday, though, it will be one more," continued Schäfer. The German''s manager has intimated that an Arab oil magnate has already bought the first ten. Meanwhile, historical Italian firm MV Agusta has been resurrected, and is now producing high specification four cylinder sports bikes, one of which is famously owned by Eddie Irvine, with the initial technical assistance of Ferrari Engineering. A special edition F4, named after the late Ayrton Senna, has already been produced. One MV Agusta F4 SPR has been made in the livery of the F2001. This bike is currently not for sale.
