Parkson KLCC gets a beauty and fashion makeover

Founded in 1987, Parkson has long weathered the changing retail landscape of our country. Just consider the company’s outlets. They were first located in shophouses, but have since moved into large retail complexes.

The years have seen Parkson upgrading its offerings and services to better keep up with the times too. Parkson KLCC, for one, was only recently given an exciting makeover.

The three-level, 11,706 sq m store now houses beauty spas and an ice-cream corner! It also offers the services of personal shoppers, as well as over 200 renowned fashion and lifestyle brands. The products range from cosmetics and fragrances to the latest ready-to-wear fashion and other lifestyle products.

At the launch, Parkson’s chief operating officer Law Boon Eng said that the outlet opened in 1998 and was one of Suria KLCC’s earliest tenants. This is however, not its first makeover.

“The first makeover was in 2002, followed by 2006 – where a number of major changes were made to our merchandise offerings and store ambience,” Law stated in his speech.

“This year, we took another bold step forward so as to keep up with the latest in the industry. We engaged a reputable international store design consultant to re-conceptualise this store, to reflect the modern age.”

According to Law, inspirations for the interior design came from the unique patterns of wind-blown sand dunes, canopy of leaves, billowy clouds and golden glows of sunrise.

These are reflected in the layered and textured ceilings, as well as the shiny and matt gold columns, the beautifully marbled floors and the tasteful décor fixtures that outfit the interior.

“She stands now offering a more unique ambience for the departments on every floor, wider walkways, chic displays and cosier environment. We let the merchandise speak for themselves,” Law added.

In terms of fashion, Parkson KLCC houses international brands like Karen Millen, Love Moschino, Miss Selfridge, Karl Lagerfeld and Warehouse, as well as local and regional labels.

There is also a handpicked range of modest yet contemporary line-up of Muslim wear brands. Other offerings include products for men and a selection of international junior labels for kids.
